How To Draw 3D Cartoons Quickly And Easily

,
3D ANIMATION :

Drawing cartoons is not the most difficult thing in the world but it isn't very easy either. You need time, imagination and sense of proportions to produce vivid characters and make your drawings look three-dimensional.

Colors and shades have a decisive role in the business but the lines and curves you use for the contour constitute the basic element. The art of adding shadows can be learned by studying objects in different places of your room if you can count on natural light. Otherwise, a lamp may be used to detect the difference that light makes in the appearance of an object. Grab a funny toy that you have in the house and a little lamp and start learning. Move the lamp around the toy and above it and make a visual note of what happens each time.

Now take a pencil and a piece of paper and try putting down your toy-character. Draw the contour and when you think it looks like your toy you may use a black color pencil to add firmness to the contour. Next step: color your character without thinking of shadows; they will come soon. As soon as you have filled the contour you will have to find the appropriate color pencil to make shadows with. Use a darker shade of whatever color your character is. Don't use gray or black, they will make your drawing look artificial.

With animal cartoon characters, the expression of the eyes and the proper shading are the basic elements that make them 'live'. The only thing to keep in mind is the head, which must be bigger for a baby animal. Yet, when you want to create people, proportions are a lot more important than colors. When we watch a film we usually concentrate on the face of an adult human character, but the general appearance can be easily noticed by the way it moves. Looking at a photo of yours or at your 6-year-old brother playing about the room will not help. There is nothing funny in real-life proportions. What you should do is exaggerate more or less in order to make your cartoon character amusing. A kid character will have a body about the same height as the head, while an adult character will look perfect with the body twice the height of the head.

Once you have created a set of animal and human cartoon characters (preferably on a graphic tablet with a stylus) and saved them in your computer, you may start preparing for a more difficult activity: creating 3D animations. There are several programs you can use to learn that. TrueSpace for instance is free and if you read the tutorial thoroughly and spend a couple of months of your life learning and testing the wide variety of options that the program includes, you may turn into an artist before you can notice. Nothing is easy when you try it for the first time, but with a little patience and a lot of passion you can make it. Believe me, 3D animation is a lot of fun, otherwise there wouldn't be so many adults doing it for pleasure. It is challenging and very rewarding. Try it yourself!

Japanese Cartoon Art

,
3D ANIMATION :

Japanese cartoon art has been one focal point to the introduction of Japan to the whole world. We have gotten to know more about Japanese culture and how the country has risen to become what it is now. Many of this art are shown in the many animated cartoon series and movies. Video games have also shown Japanese cartoon art and just like the movies and series they have been accepted internationally. The world of animated art has seen Japan create lots of animated movies and series that have been accepted wholly by the whole world.

Most of the Japanese cartoon art is usually three and two dimensional and you will find the use of bright colors is always in constant use and help create a montage of various color use. The cartoons are able to look life like because of the use of the colors which help in creating a more realistic look at human emotion. This way we are able to tell if the cartoon is angry or annoyed, by the red cheeks and also if they are sad or sick they usually turn different colors or more pale than usual.

However the colors are not the only thing that the Japanese artist uses to denote emotion. The use of the large western like eyes is also used quite frequently and many times I have always wondered why the use of western characters, have become a big theme in most of the Japanese animated movies and series.

I guess its because the whole world looks to the west as the main super power countries and it is easier to use them as characters in the animated movies.

The Bambi Blues

,
3D ANIMATION :

New on Blue Ray, Walt Disney's beloved animated classic Bambi was a controversial failure when it was first released.

"You're concerned about what you are losing from the picture and I'm worried about losing my shirt!" Walt Disney, explaining to a director why the studio had to cut sequences from Bambi.

In 1937, full of confidence and pioneering spirit as to what could be accomplished in the cartoon medium, thirty-six-year-old Walt Disney acquired the film rights to the children's book Bambi, A Life in the Woods. Written by the Hungarian born Siegmund Salzmann, under the pen name Felix Salten in 1923, Bambi was amongst the many books banned in Adolph Hitler's Germany in 1936 (reportedly, the usually animal loving Nazis, saw the Jewish Salten's story of woodland creatures trying to survive the menace of man as an allegory for Jewish persecution). Despite warnings from his artists that it lacked a sufficient story, and his great dependence on the German market, Walt Disney saw Bambi as a great opportunity to animate animals with human characteristics.

Typically, Walt Disney laughed off any political meanings in his films. The Three Little Pigs, made in 1933, was seen by many as an ode to the Great Depression; The happy swine danced like the carefree people in the 1920s until the big bad wolf wiped them out with the force of the 1929 stock market crash. The usually Republican Walt never intended that the hard-working pig that lived in the brick house be seen as an endorsement of President Roosevelt's New Deal policies. Seven years later, a columnist fumed over Fantasia. In her mind, the film's climactic scene, where the devil damned human souls into a volcano, meant Disney was saying we were all helpless against Nazi demons. Perhaps the wildest accusation had been made three years earlier when a left-wing newspaper writer had written that in Snow White, when the seven dwarfs had taken down the wicked queen, it was a clear triumph for a miniature communist society. Disney no doubt would have been taken aback to find out that many people in the modern green movement would later cite watching Bambi as the beginning of their interest in environmentalism.

The making of Bambi proved to be as laborious as some at the studio feared. More idea man than animator himself, Walt had neglected Bambi leaving his artists to get a handle on the story. Two fawns, one male, one female, were flown in from Maine for the cartoonists to study, after a time they began to act more like pets than the wild creatures Walt wanted to depict on screen. A breakthrough took place when one morning a large buck came down from nearby Griffith Park to visit the girl deer at the Hollywood studio and frightened the human spectators by lowering his head and pointing his antlers at them. After animal control took the stag away the relieved cartoonists had a better idea of how to proceed. Walt, began to show up to story meetings and made some of his trademark suggestions: Young Bambi could have a comic adventure stumbling on a frozen lake; Thumper, a character not mentioned in Salten's book, could become, like Jiminy Cricket in Pinocchio, the main character for the audience to identify with. Still the picture dragged on and was finally completed in 1942.

From the time Walt had put Bambi into production, both of Disney's parent's had died, Pinocchio (1940) and Fantasia (1940) had flopped plunging Walt into debt, the studio had been ripped apart by a labor strike, and the Japanese had bombed Pearl Harbor. Walt, who no longer had access to the lucrative European market, was in desperate need of a hit. But Bambi got a lukewarm reception from the critics, many of them finding the life of animated talking animals too realistic. (Writing about Bambi in 1988 critic Roger Ebert stated that the film was sexist pointing to the father deer going off to live on his own, leaving the mother with all the child rearing responsibility.) Some hunters, who found themselves after the release of Bambi, seen as murderers, rather than sportsman, deeply resented the film. The movie lost 200,000 in its initial release and Walt was stung when his daughter Diane came down on him for the death of Bambi's mother (Disney later resurrected her; the famous doe mom made cameos in both The Sword and the Stone (1963) and The Jungle Book four years later).

From then on Walt never had the same enthusiasm for animation, his desire to break new ground was aimed more towards television, amusement parks, and city planning. Yet despite the bad box office results Walt remained proud of Bambi. He insisted that it was meant as entertainment, not a disparagement against hunters, and often said in interviews that it was favorite film. It took fifteen years before the public at large shared his appreciation.

"I think back to 1942 when we released that picture and there was a war on and nobody cared about the love life of a deer, and the bankers were on my back. It's pretty gratifying to know that Bambi finally made it." -- Walt Disney in 1957.

Forms of Martial Arts

,
3D ANIMATION :

Generally, the martial arts mean self-defense techniques originated in Asian countries. Some martial arts stress using the feet to attack the opponents, while others concentrate on the use of the hands to render the opponents. Mental discipline and the search for enlightenment are also the focus of martial arts.

Some popular forms of martial arts are Tae Kwan Do, Judo, Kung Fu, Aikido, and Karate. Each has its own discipline. Through regular practice of moves, punches and kick of the martial arts, the players develop their mental discipline, strength and grace.

Tae Kwan Do is modern martial arts originated in Korea that is characterized by fast, high and spinning kicks. Though primarily an art where strikes with the foot are the focus, Tae Kwon Do also teaches the use of one's hands to strike an opponent or to block an opponent's kicks or punches. This Korean-born art stresses flexibility and mental discipline.

Judo means "the gentle way" in Japanese. Of course, it is derived in part from jujitsu, a Japanese martial art originally developed to complement the weaponry fighting of the Samurais. With the spread of Judo's popularity, it became an Olympic sport in 1964. It has continued to increase in popularity as a competitive sport, though some claim it has done so at the expense of the intellectual and spiritual elements of the art itself.

Kung Fu is another time-honored and popular form of martial arts. The teachings of Kung Fu are based on the movements of five animals: the dragon, the tiger, the snake, the leopard, and the crane. Grace, strength, and mental discipline are the goal of any student of Kung Fu.

Aikido is a Japanese martial art developed by Morihei Ueshiba , as a martial art, Aikido stresses throws and joint locks. Its focus is not on using punches or kicks to defeat an opponent, but rather on using their own energy to gain control of the opponent or to toss the opponent aside.

The root of Karate can be traced to the 5th century BC, and as such it carries a great deal of mystery with it. Karate developed primarily as a form of fist combat, and the teaching of Karate instructors still focus on using the hand as a weapon. Today, Karate is still taught at martial arts academies through the world.

Musing a Sliver of Soap

,
3D ANIMATION :

The demise of a bar of soap is a soapsliver. I put soap and sliver together because a soapsliver is a name for what is left of a bar of soap when it becomes to small to use comfortable with out concentrating the fact it is in your hand and it is being used to soap yourself. Soapslivers all seem to be shaped the same, except for the novelty bar that starts in the shape of a fruit, vegetable, sea shell or anything else that is not shaped like a bar. I like the novelty bar, I like to look at them and I think everyone else does.

A friend of mine has a pretty soup bowl full of them on the water closet lid. I have noticed they all seem to be there every time I must go. To my eye all soapslivers from bar soap have the same form, like a very small surfboard or skateboard. When a bar of soap becomes a soapsliver I do not know. I think it has something to do with the size hand of the user and how dexterous the hand is, or how frugal the user.

When I throw a soapsliver in the trash I often thought and wondered what use could be made of it. There is tons of soapslivers tossed in the trash daily. Imagine if all the soapslivers generate in the United Stated in one year in one place, we would lose a State. After thinking occasional about the problem, I decided to see if I could make a bar of soap out of my soapslivers with only my present knowledge.

My first thought was making a bar of soap out of soapslivers should be easy. Soap is made by maxing animal fat and lye, melting them together and molding the mix. Therefor, all I have to do is save some slivers, melt and mold; so I thought. I have been saving slivers for at least a year and had an open canning jar full or them. I put the soapslivers in a fry pan and heated it. The slivers did not melt. I put them back in the jar and the jar went in the cupboard and I went for a bowl of soap. I like soup specially in winter.

Months later when taking a canning jar from the cupboard, my eye glanced off the jar housing my collection of soapslivers. With the soapsliver again in my mind, I proceeded with my kitchen hobby. A hangover from being a cook in the US Army. Musing my thought of the dish I was planning, witch required the use of a blender, the solution of the soapsliver problem surfaced.

I've been saving the end of my shower soap for sometime. I had a pint canning jar full of them. The jar was open so they became very dried and brittle. The soapslivers were put in a blender and ground into a powder. From there, after some time and thought I just put the powder in a small rectangular container, I found in the plastic container area of a store. To the powder was mixed water until the powder picked up the consistency of a tight drop dumpling. The soap dumpling in the container was put in the cupboard and I just forgot about it for a considerable time. I do not know how long it was there. When I did get around to looking at it, it had shrunk itself from the sides of the container and with a tap the content dropped into my hand. What fell to my hand was a bar of soap which I used to a sliver. Believe it or not.

African Safari - Hey Over There, It's a Leopard in the Bushes - Oh No, It's an ALT! Part II

,
3D ANIMATION :

In part one I explained a little about where our safari took place. We then continued, by plane to our next leg of the safari where once we landed we stayed in a luxury mobile tented camp on the famous African Serengeti. The camp is one where they move the entire camp periodically to follow the cyclic migration of wildebeest and zebra. Our driver and guide, Frank Kivuyo, who is intimately familiar with the territory, not only took us to see the wild animals, but gave us a great education about many of the habits and other interesting facts about the animals we saw.

Frank had made up the term "A-L-T" (Animal Looking Thing) but it stuck. We began making fun of all the times we would spot "A-L-Ts". It seemed like everything we thought was a cheetah or lion hiding in the bush was an "A-L-T". Frank must have thought we were crazy for spotting so many "A-L-Ts". We were mistaking almost everything in the tall grass (logs, rocks, bushes, etc.) as an animal.

As we were approaching a river our guide Frank slowed down and pointed across the river to the other side. There, less than two hundred feet from us, were at least a dozen giraffes. We had never gotten so close to giraffes before and had never seen so many all together at one time. We were excited to see these majestic animals but Frank indicated for us to keep quiet so we wouldn't scare them away. This was the real McCoy and there were no A-L-Ts in sight.

Our cameras were clicking and we were taking videos. The apparent leader or mother giraffe slowly and sure-footedly made it down the steep bank to the river bed below, all the while eyeing us trying to determine if we were a threat.

We were in Frank's "office", his Land Cruiser trying to keep quiet, but also trying to keep out of each other's way so everyone could get great pictures. The lead giraffe stood on the rocks at the bed of the river for over 15 minutes just checking us out -- making sure we weren't a problem. We knew there was a crocodile earlier in that river close to them, but the lead giraffe didn't seem to worry about anything else but us.

After that long wait on the ground above the river a small giraffe left the group and slowly made it down the rugged bank to the rocks below about thirty feet from the guard giraffe. He couldn't wait any longer it seemed, and the little giraffe took a few drinks of the river water. We were waiting to see the leader take a drink, but that was not to be.

As some of the other giraffes started to climb down the river bank another Land Cruiser noisily pulled up behind us. The lead giraffe saw and heard it and immediately started retreating. He didn't even get a chance to drink, but was scared away by the other vehicle. We had hoped to finally see all the giraffes get to the water to drink. It was hot and sunny. They had to be very thirsty. There was little water in the river and we had spotted none anywhere else in that particular area.

The giraffes all quietly left. We had to get back for dinner so Frank told us more about the animal habits and other fascinating facts we probably never would have known, as he almost magically drove us there without the aid of a map or compass. Frank knew the area like a book and with never a wrong turn he took us straight back to our tents. Along the way we spotted several more A-L-Ts along with a few real animals.

That was one of many sights we experienced in Tanzania. We will surely try to get Frank, our guide at CC Africa Under Canvas - Serengeti if we have another safari. The location will be different because it's a mobile camp, but that's another story and another great adventure waiting to happen.

We were so impressed with the whole safari experience our group plans to go back there on a future safari, but we will have to wait a while, possibly several years, because Frank indicated he was going to Canada for interviews at several universities, one of which he hoped to attend next year (2009). Meanwhile Safari Kay has already started planning another African Safari next year and we will hear more stories and adventures. But this time we all will understand and know the excitement of an African safari adventure.

Cure For Eczema

,
3D ANIMATION :

At present, there is no known cure for eczema. While between ten and twenty percent of all babies in the United States suffer from eczema, most of them are free of the condition by the age of two. The reason for this is not well understood. What is known is that, depending on the type of eczema, several steps can be taken to reduce the likelihood of future episodes.

In atopic eczema, exposure to an allergen may often act as a trigger for itching and dryness, scaling or redness of the skin. Sometimes, an allergen may remain unidentified, making it difficult to institute preventive measures. Often, an airborne allergen, like animal dander or dust, may be the trigger. In other cases, a particular foodstuff may cause an allergic reaction. Eliminating this food from the diet may result in milder symptoms or complete resolution.

People who suffer from contact eczema need to eliminate all contact with the offending substance for symptoms to resolve. The offending substance might be a chemical in detergent or bath and beauty products. Certain fabrics may also trigger eczematous skin reactions in susceptible people. Similarly, in dyshidrotic eczema, known triggers such as nickel costume jewelry should be avoided completely.

In general, the best treatment for eczema is to avoid any known or suspected trigger. If this is not possible, medical intervention may be the only alternative. Careful skin care and moisturizing can help reduce the severity of symptoms. Tar compounds may be useful to control the skin thickening and flaking of some types of eczema. Corticosteroid creams are often the mainstay of treatment, but if they are ineffective, steroids taken by mouth may be prescribed. While some new compounds called immune modulators may significantly reduce eczema symptoms, some of these compounds have potentially serious side effects and should only be used under direct medical supervision.

Chicken House Fencing Options to Consider

,
3D ANIMATION :

Learning how to build a chicken house fence properly is one of the most important things you can do to keep your birds safe and ensure that predators stay away. Having a chicken coop out in the open with no type of protection is literally asking for problems, so taking the time to understand what you need to consider when building it is vital.

Here are the three big things to look at.

Depth of the Fence

First, think about how far down you want the fence to go in the ground. You will get some predatory animals that will attempt to burrow underneath the fence, getting in through that manner. In order to prevent this from happening, I'd suggest placing your fence at least two feet into the ground if possible.

This may not always be available depending on the ground region you live in, but at least going as low as you can will be of benefit.

Building Materials

Next, consider the building materials you want to use to construct the fence out of. Do you want to have a wire fence or would you prefer to have a fence made out of wood? There will be benefits and cons to each type of fence material, so assess these and ensure you're making the right decision according to your needs.

The type of building material you choose to use will also have an impact on how much it costs to build the fence, so that's another thing you need to consider also.

Type Of Opening On Your Chicken House

Finally, think about how you want your chicken house to open. Ideally you want to be able to get in and out conveniently, but you want to prevent other animals from getting through.

If the clasp to the gate is easily rattled open, your fence may not do that good of a job at withstanding the predators.

So, be sure you're keeping these points in mind. It's vital to have some type of fencing system around your house to protect your chickens, so be sure you're taking this into consideration.

Types of Carbon Fuels

,
3D ANIMATION :

Any discussion of carbon fuels tends to carry the assumption they are all the same. There are, however, many different types of carbon fuels comprising this energy source.

Types of Carbon Fuels

While all carbon fuels are generally used for the same purpose, producing energy, there are different types of carbon fuels. Carbon fuels are the hydrocarbon fuels that are found underneath within the Earth. They were produced millions of years ago during the Carboniferous period of history. These fuels are very important to the Earth's population, as most of our energy is produced by their burning. Formed from decayed plant and animal matter that was both compressed and heated underground, carbon fuels are a non-renewable resource because they are no longer being created.

The three major types of carbon fuels are coal, oil and natural gas. Coal has been used for thousands of years since cavemen first began burning it to heat their caves and cook their food. A solid, shiny black substance, coal is a carbon based fuel that became especially important in the 1800s when both the industrial revolution and the locomotive combustion engine relied on its use. Machinery, as well as transportation, grew quickly once coal was found to be a portable and easy to use power source.

Generally, the hardest types of coal, bituminous and anthracite, are used in the burning of coal. These forms of coal are fairly prevalent. They are mined by strip mining or digging down into coal veins with the raw material then being transported to the surface for refinement. Coal is not clean burning, very efficient or environmentally friendly. The material is also very hazardous to the miners given the dangerous work environment and the coal dust that imbeds in their lungs.

Oil is the most widely used of the types of carbon fuels. Oil (petroleum) is found in natural reservoirs underneath the Earth's surface. Pumps and piping are drilled down underground to reach these stores of oil, and then it is pumped up to the surface. Crude oil is then refined for use as heating oil, gasoline and many other combustible fuels. Oil's portability and easy to burn properties make it an excellent source of energy. The burning of oil has a number of drawbacks. It produces significant air pollutants and carbon dioxide, which is a greenhouse gas. Furthermore, oil reserves are not spread equally over the planet, giving rise to political and military tensions associated with the control of the resource.

Natural gas is the last prevalent carbon fuel we use in modern society. While oil and coal formed the backbone of the industrial revolution, natural gas has become more of a player recently. Natural gas is primarily comprised of methane, another greenhouse gas. Natural gas is found in many of the same places as oil and coal, but was not originally a popular energy resource due to transportation and a lack of stability. In fact, it was simply burned off using flaring pipes in many oil fields. With modern advances, natural gas is now much easier to control as it is reduced to a liquefied form for transportation. In fact, flaring of natural gas is no illegal in many countries. As with oil, natural gas has many problems related to the production of greenhouse gases and the fact it is found in abundance in only a few countries such as Iran. While oil gets much of the attention, natural gas reserves are actually under much more stress.

The different types of carbon fuels used in the world today are fast being depleted. With the economies of countries such as India and China growing at shocking rates, the demand will only increase. This will putt the different types of carbon fuels under more stress and inevitably lead to political and military conflict.

Aquarium Driftwood

,
3D ANIMATION :

Aquariums are not complete with just water and few fish swimming around in them. Adding aquarium driftwood can help make a beautiful aquascapes. Driftwood can be anything like small arches, caves, or hollows. Driftwood like branches, stumpy, and planted driftwood are readily available on the aquarium market.

The choice of driftwood would primarily depend on the size of aquarium and the type of aquarium like freshwater or saltwater aquarium and the types of fish present in the aquarium.

When looking for driftwood, it is necessary to make sure that driftwood sinks naturally inside the aquariums, because if it doesn't sink, then they should be attached to a holder to keep them fixed at the bottom of the aquarium.

It is also necessary to make sure that the driftwood is free of snails and algae, so that it does not contaminate the aquarium's ecosystem. To ensure this, many aquarium shops thoroughly clean driftwood to make them safe for your aquarium.

Ensure that any driftwood you purchase do not have tannins in it, so it will not contaminate or discolor the water. Artificial driftwood is widely available at affordable prices. Apart from adding beauty to your aquarium, driftwood helps to mimic the natural environment of fish and help them enjoy being in the aquarium.

There are special kinds of driftwood suited to each kind of fish. For instance, Caribbean driftwood is a favorite of Dart frogs and Terrarium. Planted driftwood, with java fern and java moss growing on top of it, are also available.

A small driftwood centerpiece suitable for aquariums with a capacity of 10 to 30 gallons could cost you around .50. The price ranges can go upto for super large driftwood for 100 to 150 gallon capacity aquariums. No matter what the size of your aquarium is or how many fish it holds, adding accessories to it like driftwood pleases the fish in the aquarium and is quite pleasing to the eye.

Christmas Screensavers - Countdown to the Holidays

,
3D ANIMATION :

As the holidays approach and excitement builds, the countdown to Christmas Day begins. There are several ways to keep track of how many days remain until Christmas. For some, it is a simple matter of marking bold "X's" on a calendar, but many others look for something more interactive and entertaining.

Some folks enjoy Advent or Christmas calendars with little windows to open and tiny chocolate treasures inside. Then there are those who look forward to the local radio stations adding Christmas songs to their daily programming. Yet others religiously watch their favorite Christmas movies as the TV stations provide their version of the Christmas countdown.

What many people may not realize is that there are also free Christmas screensavers designed to help build excitement as the holiday season draws near. Christmas Countdown and Santa's Workshop 3D are two such screensavers. These free downloads add fun Christmas scenes to your screen and keep you engaged during the thrilling build up to Christmas Day.

Christmas Countdown Screensaver begins with a tinsel laced evergreen tucked into a snowy mountain scene. Prior to December, beautiful and calming piano music plays while a gentle snow falls. An occasional animated animal will visit the scene and add their voice to the mix while shooting stars brighten the darkening sky. On Dec. 1, a transformation begins as the screensaver becomes a countdown calendar. Each day, a calendar "door" will open to reveal a new addition to the pristine setting. The lovely evergreen becomes even more enchanting as Christmas decorations are applied and new wildlife comes to visit. A snowman, cozy cottage, and other surprises add a bit of winter wonder to the mountainous landscape. When Christmas Day finally arrives, your screen is filled with a full holiday scene.

Christmas Countdown progresses daily towards a festive backdrop, but Santa's Workshop 3D Screensaver is a snapshot from the North Pole right from the beginning. As the "Nutcracker Suite" plays in the background and snow floats lazily to the ground outside, a roaring fire keeps Santa's helpers warm and toasty while they busily prepare for Christmas Day. Above the hearth, a calendar reminds you and the elves how many days are left until Christmas.

With so many ways to get into the Christmas spirit, let the countdown begin! Mark "X's" on your calendar, set your radio to the station that plays the best Christmas songs, watch your all-time favorite Christmas movies on TV, and don't forget to download a fun and free Christmas screensaver for the holidays.

Interactions of Aspirin and Hormonal Therapy in Men with Prostate Cancer

,
3D ANIMATION :

Prostate cancer is a common diagnosis in men, especially in the older population. Other medical problems, such as heart disease, are also frequent in this age group.

Hormone therapy is a helpful treatment for many men with prostate cancer and aspirin is protective for those with heart disease. Since many of these men are diagnosed with both heart disease and prostate cancer, it seems intuitive that they should take both aspirin and hormone therapy.

Hormone therapy reduces the blood level of testosterone, the male hormone that prostate cancer cells tend to thrive on. Aspirin, on the other hand, is a blood thinner that helps to prevent blood clots and heart attacks. In addition, hormonal therapy can raise a man's risk of having a heart attack, so taking baby aspirin seems like a sensible approach to decrease this possibility.

However, a recent study published in the New England Journal of Medicine evaluated the finding of elevated liver function blood tests in men using both agents. The study included 206 men with localized prostate cancer who were enrolled in a clinical trial to compare the outcome of radiation therapy alone versus radiation therapy plus six months of hormonal therapy.

Men who completed six months of hormonal therapy were three and a half times less likely to die from prostate cancer than men who received less than the full course. When liver function tests were found to be elevated, the implication was the hormone therapy had to be discontinued until the tests normalized.

As it turned out, men who took aspirin were more likely to need to discontinue hormone therapy. Extrapolating from animal data, investigators inferred that the amount of aspirin that entered the bloodstream was magnified 100-times in men who received hormone therapy.

Whenever treating a person, medical doctors need to weigh the benefits and risk of their medical decisions. Therefore, a compromise appears to be the following: men who take aspirin for prevention can forego it for the six months of hormonal therapy. On the other hand, a man who absolutely needs aspirin will forego hormone therapy instead.

The good news is that by practicing holistic medicine, such as by looking at the whole man and not just his medical problem(s), physicians can make the best decisions that affect the prolongation of the person's life.

Why The Dog Owner Needs To Be Alpha

,
3D ANIMATION :

One of the things most pet owners are reluctant to do is to properly dominate their dogs. They want to treat their dogs like equals, as though they are part of the family. But the truth about dogs is that they do not want to be equals. They want to know their place.

As pack animals, each dog has a pecking order - a dominance hierarchy where each dog fits somewhere down the line of "who is the boss." One dog is the leader of all the dogs (often referred to as "alpha"), another is second in command, and so on, much like a military system. Because this order is part of a dog's natural behavior, dogs expect this system of governance even as pets. A failed system, where a dog does not know its place (whether it is supposed to be the dominant or submissive member of the group) makes dog's nervous and uncomfortable.

So it is always important to ensure that you are the alpha in the eyes of your dog, and that requires that you show your dog that you are its boss. One of the best ways to do this is through commands. An alpha dog does not take commands from its subordinates, so as you teach your dog to listen to your commands, you are teaching it that you are its leader.

To show your dog you mean business, all you need to know is one command. For now, let's assume your dog knows "sit." Rather than just simply telling your dog to sit whenever you are showing off your dog's tricks to your friends, you should also tell your dog to sit in other situations as well. For example, every time you are about to open a door, whether it be to your room or the basement, or anywhere else your dog is allowed to roam in the house, tell your dog to sit, and do not open the door until it does. Only after it sits do you allow your dog to enter a room.

Similarly, before you give your dog its food or its toys, tell your dog to sit. While it seems like a simple command (depending on how excitable your dog is and how well it is trained, sitting will not appear very difficult) what you are teaching your dog is that you are the one that is deciding when it eats, plays, and when it enters a room. By, in a sense, showing your dog it needs your permission if it wants to do any of the behaviors it wants to engage in, you are dominating your dog.

Again, the best way to ensure you live happily with your dog and that your dog grows up stress free is to teach your dog that you are the alpha and it is your subordinate. You may not want to, but it is an important step in your relationship with your dog.

Sketchup and Online Landscape Design - Creating a 3D Landscape

,
3D ANIMATION :

Sketchup is 3D design software that is used for many different industries.

However, for the hard to visualize area of landscape design, it can provide one of the best portrayals of the 3D landscape.

Sketchup was originally owned by @Last Software, but it was bought by Google. Hmmm....I guess Google thought it was pretty good. And it is.

There is a free version and a paid version. For the average person, the free version is fine. If you want to get more intricate with such things as grading and showing different elevations, then you will want the paid version.

For residential design, you can use this program in a couple of different ways.

The first way is to design right in the program. With a click of the mouse, you can set the drawing in a perspective position. Guidelines help you make sure you are drawing correctly. You can enter actual heights and lengths of objects, such as a house. You can put in the dimensions of the house, ie., length and width. Then use something called the pull tool to extend it up to the correct height.

It is all very user friendly. Also, what is created has an artistic flair to it, which makes it a lot of fun!

You can also view different materials for landscape elements. For example, if you are drawing a patio, you can go to the Materials area and choose what you might like. There are many different materials and you can change them as you like to see the differences. Some choices are stone, pavers, brick and concrete.

A plant palette is offered also. These are fine. However, for a more sophisticated look, there are other inexpensive components you can buy to use in your design.

The second way of using Sketchup is to create a 2D drawing in such programs as AutoCad, and import it into Sketchup. In this situation, you are working from your drawing so that an exact replica of the design is created. This allows you to see what a drawing will look like when built. Changes are easily made if there is something you don't like or want to add.

Some of the components you can add to the 3D landscape design are people, cars, grills, pergolas, plants, any many, many more. These are available directly through the program or through something called Google Warehouse. They are all free.

There is a lot of flexibility with the components. You can resize or rescale them if you need to. You can also change colors of both components and materials.

By adding window components to a house, you can actually position a person inside the house. This allows you to attain a view as if you were inside looking out. What a great feature to see what your view will be like.

You can also create scenes. Scenes let you save a particular view. These scenes can also be exported into jpeg images. You can also create an animation which is a fly by or walk through of the entire design!

Any or all of these features can be used to suit your purposes. The software can be used in both simple and sophisticated ways. There are many other features available also. All in all it is a great 3D program.

Types of Animation

,
3D ANIMATION :

The world of technology has advanced and modified over the years. It has brought a wave of computer graphics with which an animator can transform his world of picture-making into the world of reality. The graphics has brought a new tide of revolution in the field of computer. Over the years, the graphics became popular in many professional fields. They are employed from fields ranging from film, cartoon making to commercial business and educational institutes.

In a commercial world, the animation is used for the purpose of advertising goods and services. It is also used in maintaining and presenting the company website or promoting online business. An entrepreneur also employs computer graphics for presenting reports or making multimedia presentations. Educational institutions require these graphics for lucid explanation of facts or online tutorials. The film and entertainment industry often uses cartoons for visual effects or preparing a complete cartoon film.

There are several types of animation invented and introduced to the world. The 2D graphics was the first to be introduced to the world. In this kind, the cartoon characters are created by using 2D bitmap graphics. The advanced version is 3D animation that is digitally modeled as a result of which an animator can manipulate the image he desires or requires. There are many ways to use the graphic for the purpose of cartoon making. The Puppet cartoon making can be created by using stop-motion puppet figures. A constructed environment is created in which these figures interact with each other. The Model graphics are also used for the purpose of making cartoon films for the purpose of entertaining the children. Nowadays, animated films are also created for the adults and not only for the children. It is stop-motion moving picture created that exists as a part of real world. There are several visual effects used for the purpose of making a picture more emphatic and impressive. You can have intercutting, split screens and matte effects to make the stop-motion characters interact with the live actors or settings. The clay moving pictures employs figures made of clay or similar such material to create an impression of moving pictures. All these are different kinds of animated films or characters to achieve desirable results.

3D Animation - What Does It Have to Do With the Animation Industry?

,
3D ANIMATION :

3D animation from the onset has made a major impact on the industry. It's not only a challenge for the 3D artist, but also for the software programmers who supports the artist with robust and feature filled tools. Without the computers and 3D software, the industry would not be charging forward as it is today. The underlining work like the frames and models of the shot can be simple, but when it comes to motion or the movements this is where the characters become a handful. The creative juice and experience of the animator comes into play. This is why studios often only work with certain animators. They have the strengths and skills that match the studios direction.

Don't fret if a particular studio does not like your skills. It just means that you have not found a studio that understands your skills and strengths. Only an artist can bring life to a character in a way that makes it look real enough to give an entertainment value to its viewers. You may be the animator who can pull this off. Each animator has his or her particular strength.

3D Visual Styling

3D animation and the visual styling is something that has to be taken into account. For instance rendering a project is a large portion of how the final product will appear. To properly render a character or object, the artist needs to plan it out. The planning needs to include the method and kind of software to support the project. Not all software is the same. The objective of the animation needs to synch with all movements to make the character look realistic. Now-a-days directing the movements of a character is done by people. Sensors are placed on real human beings who input those movements into a computer. Later those movements are added to a character that will mimic a person's movements. Cinematography is also a vital element of animation since the animators have the power to control the position and the movement of the camera when doing a computer animated picture.

Proper drawn 3D computer animation image sequences and lighting has a large impact on the completed product. Both the formation of the character and aspects are planned out before the project starts. One of the most complex parts of 3D animation is the facial animated features. Just the simple blinking of an eye can throw off the animation if done incorrectly. Lots of attention is given to small features like eye movements, mouth, eyebrows etc. Done wrong will take away from the realism of the character.

A Career in 3D Animation

If a person is looking at a career in animation, it is always good to buy tools like animation software to get an early jump on learning the foundation before enrolling in an animation class. No matter the field you are leaning towards, it is good to get an early idea about the basic skills in 3D computer animation. 3D computer animation by far is the most popular of any type of animation and also the most fun. Enrolling in an animation school is the best way to not only learn the trade, but also help you decide on your animation specialty. Finding your strength is the most important thing and the easiest way to find that is through education and practice.
